How to show up to your first open play session

The Gold Coast has one of Australia's most welcoming pickleball scenes. GCPA runs beginner-friendly open play at all four locations — no experience or equipment required.

  1. 01 Find your nearest GCPA location — Currumbin, Runaway Bay, Tallebudgera, or Pizzey Park. Check gcpickleball.com.au for session times.
  2. 02 Show up and say it's your first time — GCPA organisers pair new arrivals with experienced players who enjoy showing beginners the ropes.
  3. 03 Paddles are provided for first sessions at no charge. Wear court shoes — non-marking rubber soles, not runners or thongs.

After your session

Pickleball balls go dead after extended play — they lose resilience and stop bouncing true. When yours are done, don't bin them.

Second Serve bins are at Robina Pickleball Club and Coomera Racquet Centre. Drop your dead balls on the way out and we'll turn them into Dead Ball™ products instead of landfill.
