Regional Queensland

Padel infrastructure outside Southeast Queensland is still emerging. If you're in regional QLD, pickleball has much wider coverage — 70+ venues statewide spanning Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Rockhampton, and beyond. See the padel vs pickleball guide to decide which suits you.

Getting started with padel

You need four people.
That's the only rule before you book.

Padel is doubles-only — the court is designed for four players and there's no singles format. Line up a group before you look at venue availability, because all Queensland venues book by court, not by head.

Every current Queensland padel venue operates on a casual court-hire model. No membership required. Rackets are available to hire at the venue if you're trying it for the first time.

01 Organise a group of four — that's the minimum, and the maximum, for padel.
02 Book a court directly with the venue — 60–90 minutes is the standard hire block.
03 Hire rackets on arrival. Your first session typically costs $10–$20 per person all-in.
