How to show up to your first open play session

Open play is the fastest way in — no booking, no partner required, no experience needed. Most Brisbane clubs run it weekly and actively welcome new faces.

  1. 01 Check the schedule for your nearest club — most post session times on Facebook or their club website.
  2. 02 Arrive 10 minutes early and tell the organiser it's your first time — you'll be paired with experienced players who'll show you the ropes.
  3. 03 Borrow a paddle — most Brisbane clubs have loaner gear. Wear court shoes with non-marking soles.

After your session

When your balls go dead — they lose pressure and bounce — don't bin them. Brisbane Pickleball Club in East Brisbane has a Second Serve recycling bin on site.

We collect the dead balls and turn them into Dead Ball™ products. Drop them in the bin on your way out and close the loop on ball waste.

Dead balls at your Brisbane club? Get a Second Serve recycling bin — free for Queensland clubs.
